Me, Myself & UI Linkedin Newsletter

During my tenure at Deloitte, I recognized the immense value of continuous learning, especially in the ever-evolving field of design. To cultivate a culture of knowledge sharing and professional growth, I initiated a Slack channel titled "Always Be Learning." This platform was dedicated to sharing valuable resources, tips, tutorials, and links that I believed would benefit the design community within Deloitte.

The impact of this initiative was profound and far-reaching. The channel rapidly gained popularity, transcending its original audience. It became a hub for not only designers but also professionals from other teams and, surprisingly, individuals outside the organization. This broadened engagement reflected a universal appreciation for learning and professional development.

Buoyed by the success of the Slack channel, my colleague Jess Pellow and I decided to take our passion for knowledge sharing a step further. We launched a newsletter on LinkedIn named "Me, Myself & UI," which we updated weekly. The newsletter was an extension of our commitment to the design community, offering insights, industry trends, and valuable learning resources.

The response to "Me, Myself & UI" was overwhelming. Within a short period, the newsletter amassed a large following, attracting thousands of readers, including renowned designers like Brad Frost and Pablo Stanley. This achievement was not just a testament to the newsletter's content quality but also indicative of the growing thirst for knowledge and expertise in the design community.

Although "Me, Myself & UI" is no longer active, my passion for learning and teaching remains undiminished. This journey at Deloitte underscored the power of sharing knowledge and fostering a learning culture in a corporate environment. It demonstrated that by providing a platform for continuous learning, we could significantly contribute to the professional growth of individuals and, by extension, the entire organization. In conclusion, this initiative at Deloitte highlights my commitment to professional development and community building. It exemplifies my ability to lead by example, inspire others, and create impactful, knowledge-driven initiatives. These experiences and values are integral to my professional ethos and align closely with the roles and responsibilities of a creative director or design director, where nurturing talent and fostering a culture of continuous learning are paramount.
